2010 Community Project

A house belonging to one of our students was leaking and urgently needed repair. His widowed and unemployed mother could not fix the roof so the student wrote a letter to us saying “You might think you are outside if you are in, because the rain is raining inside and making my mom to have stress”. A single iron sheet that is more durable and normally used for roofing was used to cover the leak and now the student is able to study in peace.

DAF also built an adobe house for one of our students. His home was destroyed by strong winds 4 years ago. It took two days to complete the house with the help of our students and their guardians. This was also part of community service which is a requirement for all DAF students.
